So, I am browsing around looking for a combo HD-DVD / Blu-Ray Player and stumble upon an offer from Best Buy where if you buy their LG Combo Player for $1,199.99 you get 10 free HD-DVD or Blu-Ray Movies. I think to myself, well the price for the player is kinda high, but I might as well get some movies for free to play on my new player. The offer page tells you to add the 10 movies to your cart then come back to this page and add the player to your cart to get the free movie deal. So, I add the movies to my cart and they all qualify for free ground shipping. Sounds like a great deal? Welll, it was all down hill from there…

So, I changed it to overnight shipping which came to $80.10. That’s a little steep, but not a total rip off.

I then proceed back to the page with the player and the free movie offer. I add the player to my cart and am floored when I see the total has jumped up to $2,644.09. I scrolled down and sure enough all the movies were free, but the shipping had jumped up to $1,444.10 for a Movie Player and 10 Movies. Even when I shipped the shipping to ground it came in at $310.00.

I guess Best Buy thinks their shoppers are stupid or something. They pull stunt after stunt after stunt and get caught over and over again, but they just keep trying. Oh, Best Buy. When will you learn?
